On this specimen the matrix is shot through with sharp, gemmy crystals of pink tourmaline, which contrast well with the white milky quartz. The tourmaline crystals are nicely striated and are a very colorful rose pink. On the top and bottom of the piece the crystals are exposed for their length, while on the ends you can see the circle showing the diameter of the crystals that are still embedded in the matrix. The longest exposed crystal is 4.3" long.
