The white lines that are situated in the middle of the crystals in this large cluster of faden quartz are one of the key characteristics of this rare form of quartz. The other is that the crystals are doubly terminated, and you can easily see this prominent feature as well. The white lines are strings of air bubbles which formed when the crystals were growing, as they continually broke and re-formed as the fissure they grew in expanded. This is a superb specimen of this type of quartz, with no distracting damage.
