Here is a 31.8 carat, sharp single crystal of bright green diopside from the 2007 find at Merelani Hills. The crystal is sharp and beautifully formed, with smooth, glassy faces forming a sharp termination with crisp edges. The crystal is gemmy, with luminous green color and bright luster, plus some interesting black inclusions (probably manganese). Overall, this is a superb specimen of diopside from an historic find.
