This fine specimen of muscovite is beautifully formed into multiple "books" of shiny silvery-gold, hexagonal crystals. Formations like this are called "pocket mica" because they are often found lining the open spaces, or pockets, where many gem crystals are found. This specimen is an excellent example of this kind of mica, with great color, pearly luster, and no damage.
