Rainbow aura quartz is one of the flashiest and most brilliant members of the aura quartz family (aqua aura, opal aura, pink aura, etc.). The color comes from a thin layer of titanium which is infusion bonded onto the surfaces of the quartz. On this specimen, the smaller crystals covering the sides of the main crystals reflect the light as the specimen is turned, creating a spectacular and brilliant display of bright rainbow colors.
