The pyrite crystals on this excellent specimen are dazzling – flashy, and brilliant, mirror-faced.  The pyritohedral crystals are colored a glowing, brassy, golden yellow color, and are geometrically perfect and totally free of damage.  The crystals are very well defined, with crisp, razor sharp edges and intersections.  They are perched on a matrix of black, sparkling, lamellar hematite, which creates an attention grabbing contrast.  This is an old specimen from the 2006 find.
