This highly aesthetic specimen of PYRITE (also called Fool's Gold) in a brassy yellow color with crisply geometric pyritohedral crystals. This fine piece comes from the Racracancha Mine, Tinyahuarco Dist., Pasco Province, Cerro de Pasco Dept., Peru - a mine that produces some of the finest specimens in the world in this crystal habit. This is another new treasure I picked out at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, when I visited one of my old Peruvian friends who is a wholesale dealer.
