On this specimen the bladed kyanite crystals are colored an intense sapphire blue, in a shade that is much more vivid and saturated than most kyanite specimens, which can be somewhat pale. The longest crystals are approaching 3" long and about .5" wide, and they have a flashy luster that adds a lot of pizzazz to the piece. Interspersed between the kyanite blades is some white milky quartz, which adds contrast to the presentation. This is a colorful and aesthetic example of this highly collectible mineral with no distracting damage.
