I think spessartine garnets are one of the most beautiful members of the garnet family, and this specimen is a delightful example. It is a colorful, deep marmalade orange in color, and is composed of twinned garnet crystals that have intergrown to form a solid piece. The luster is glassy, and the edges and joins are sharp and complete. This specimen comes from the historic 2008 find in Tanzania at this now-exhausted locality.
