Here is a dramatic sceptered smoky quartz crystal with a large, fat, head set a smoky shaft. Named for the royal ornamental device, on a scepter crystal the top part of a prismatic crystal protrudes and is wider than the shaft of the crystal, usually a result of the cap overgrowing the base. The smoky crystals have a wet-look luster, and are gem clear with extra-sharp edges and joins. There is no damage to the smoky crystals.
