Here is a wonderful  specimen of what is known as "mushroom" tourmaline, because of the mushroom shape of the rubellite crystals. It features trigonal, mushroom-like crystals with characteristic botryoidal shapes. The color is a vivid raspberry pink, and the crystals are shiny and lustrous. This is a very attractive and top quality matrix specimen of this very rare form of tourmaline.
