Here is a superb specimen of demantoid garnets on matrix from Madagascar, featuring extra large crystals that are 11mm in length – perhaps among the largest found at this renowned locality. The color is a rich sea green, and edges and faces of the crystals are sharp and well-defined. There is only minor damage (actually, from a natural contact point) to one face of one of the crystals.
