I visited an imperial topaz mine near Ouro Preto during my trip to Brazil's Minas Gerais province. The miners descended on me like flies, each offering packets of topaz crystal for sale. This was one my prized acquisitions from that memorable day. It is a sharp gem crystal with a superb termination. It has brilliant wet-look luster and an intense golden-orange sherry color that is especially rich and appealing.
