The finest specimens of azurite from Milpillas are truly mineral masterpieces, and this one certainly qualifies. The crystals are razor sharp, and feature smooth, mirror-like surfaces on the complex multi-faced crystals. The color is the brilliant blue that is only found on specimens on which azurite has formed as a thin coating on top of azurite that had pseudomorphed to malachite. The piece is very clean, with no damage other than a small bruise on one outside edge. The overall quality and aesthetics of this piece are really noteworthy.
