The deep purple-violet color of this amethyst is really amazing, which is not surprising since it comes from the locality in Uruguay which produces the richest and most colorful amethyst in the world.  The crystals are formed in a large mound, and they are highly lustrous and flashy.  The terminations are almost all complete and undamaged, and the large size and rich color make for a big impact.
