This cuprite specimen from the January 2016 pocket at Milpillas features crystals that are colored an intense cherry red, with a nice metallic luster. They are perched on a matrix slab over a dusting of pale turquoise blue chrysocolla, providing a dramatic contrast. The interlocking crystals are sharply formed and damage free, and are actually fairly gemmy, lighting up an intense stop-light red when backlit.
