The color, sharpness and gem clarity of this fluorite specimen makes it one of the finest yellow fluorites I have seen, comparable or surpassing the best from southern Illinois. The crystals, which are up to 1.5" on edge, are smooth and glassy, with brilliant wet-look luster that is very flashy. The edges are keenly edged, with almost no dings or bruises. The color is a rich yellow, and the interior of the crystals varies from gem clear to slightly gemmy. I can only find one cleaved corner, and it is on an outside edge. This was the best of a small lot of these from a 2015 find that turned up in Tucson in 2016.
