Here's a superb specimen of color-zoned green and purple FLUORITE from the Wushan Fluorite Mine, De'An, Jiujang, Jiangxi Province, China, in which the entire specimen is composed of a thick plate of layered fluorite and QUARTZ. The fluorite crystals on this material are revealed by etching away the covering layer of white quartz. This is a new find which we picked up at the Tucson Gem, Rock and Mineral Show from one of our favorite Chinese dealer friends, who had a great selection of this highly aesthetic material.
