This choice specimen of amethyst from Montana's Little Gem Mine was mined by my buddy Bob Jackson in 2013.  It is a great specimen of amethyst, but it is also an example of a rare formation - elestial amethyst (what the Brazilians call jacare).  There are multiple terminations on the piece, all in a deep, rich shade of violet.  The top and two sides are covered with parallel growth crystals, all oriented in perfect parallel so they catch and reflect the light at the same time.
