Here is a beautifully crystallized specimen of grossular garnet from the very well-known (and now closed) Jeffrey Mine in Quebec. Unlike the usual pale orange garnets from this locality, these crystals are colored a brightly colorful and rich reddish-orange. The sharp, gem clear, dodecahedral crystals are very sharply formed and have a brilliant, wet-look, adamantine luster. Specimens of this quality are now very hard to find.
